It is a pleasure to welcome you to Welcombe Hills, a 3 – 19 special needs school in Stratford upon Avon, which is part of the Unity MAT. Our school has two separate sites: the main site on Blue Cap Road, and our Hub on Drayton Avenue, which is mainly 16-19 year old students.

Royal Shakespeare Theatre visit - The BFG!

Our students recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Royal Shakespeare Company to watch a stage production of The BFG by Roald Dahl.

The performance brought the much-loved story to life with imaginative staging and wonderful characters, capturing everyone’s attention from start to finish. Many of our pupils were visiting a professional theatre for the first time, making it a truly memorable experience.

We were incredibly proud of their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the day, they were fantastic ambassadors for our school.

KS4 visit to the Aerospace factory in Rugby

As part of our KS4 Careers Curriculum, students recently visited an aerospace manufacturing factory in Rugby to gain first-hand experience of the engineering sector.

During the visit, students toured the factory floor, observed specialist machinery in operation and learned about the range of roles available within aerospace manufacturing. Staff spoke to students about apprenticeships, qualifications and career pathways, helping them to understand the skills and attributes required for employment in this industry.

The trip provided valuable insight into real-world applications of maths, design technology and teamwork, supporting students to make informed choices about their future. We were proud of the mature and respectful manner in which our students represented the school.

Experiences such as this support our commitment to preparing students for adulthood through meaningful, employer-linked careers education.
